When I’m reading One piece fan fiction/headcannons about Zoro and they say he’s a bad dad or hates kids, I immediately stop reading and move on to the next fic/headcanon because I remember the water 7 filler arc and how he (begrudgingly yet caring) took care of the baby triplets and children when the big brother role was forced onto him. Like Zoro? Hating kids?

For me it’s a bad take but whatever you do you 🤷🏻‍♀️

But whatever, the post wasn't about me, apologies for jumping to conclusions.

2) I know what Captain Swan is. I also know that you've been tagging rant posts with "which cs do I mean??? I guess we'll never know", coincidentally timed with passive aggressive posts in the bitb tag directly referencing recently posted Don/Bobby headcanons. I - and everyone else - just ignore them because they're not worth starting fights over, but you're not as subtle as you think you are.

3) I don't know how to say this nicely, so I'll just say it. The fandom is not on your side. Or if they are, those people aren't in the tag. No one I have spoken to agrees with you. If there are lots of people who think like you do, great! Hang out with them! Create another tag where you don't have to deal with the kind of stuff we're posting in the main tag!

4) When you write fic about Don and Kate, is that rpf? Even though he had a girlfriend at the time the story takes place, who he later married? Because if so, you're just as bad as I am for disrespecting his memory. If not, then I'm equally within my rights to imagine a fictional relationship for him, with Bobby or with anyone I choose. Pick one or the other, but you can't set a double standard here.

5) Everything I said in my ask - which was politely worded and not nearly as hateful as it could have been - remains true. Looking through your blog it seems like seeing stuff about the boys being queer is really upsetting for you, and I reiterate what I said before: blacklist it. You're willingly subjecting yourself to stuff that upsets you and then blaming us for shoving it down your throat.

So. Can we just not do this?

I dont see Helaena cheating. I see her having feelings for Aemond both romantic and sexual in nature but I don't see her cheating. And IK people bring up the "so you don't want female characters to have agency and sexually fulfilled lives? So you think only men are allowed to cheat? So you think all people with autism are aroace robots with no interest in sex?" arguments and I believe some anti-helaemonds genuinely smack of that kind of thinking, but something it's simply: I just don't think Heleana is that kind of character from what we have gotten. Helaena not cheating doesn't mean all real woman cant ever cheat or all female characters cant ever cheat, its just in Helaena's case she does not. There are female characters who cheat, not as many as men, but they're there. I don't see why Helaena specifically not cheating would be such a big blow? Is it because of the autism? In that case the scarcity of autistic characters should be criticised IMO; we shouldn't need to make one autistic fill a niche by herself. Thats just sad tbh.

It's the only reason I don't believe anything happened between Helaemond on the show and will be very surprised if it has or will unless helaena does a 180, which IG could be a kinda fun angle - her becoming more like Aegon/a Dragon. But there's so much gonna be going on I don't know if we need this. I'm just a little sick of Aemond I guess.

hey there, i want to take this opportunity to assure everyone that, with all my ranting, i'm not really a prescriptivist person, bent on shaping the way people interact with their chosen piece of media :)

so, if that's your interpretation of helaena's character, that's completely fine in my book, and you are entitled to your headcanons. don't get me wrong here, i'm not trying to police the way people consume fiction or how they like to play in their own sandboxes, lord knows there is enough room for all of us under the sun. so, if you think that she wouldn't cheat for various reasons, i'm not here to contradict your view specifically and tell you you're wrong. our opposing opinions can co-exist just fine in the space-time continuum. :))

personally speaking, i interpret their social & familial roles breaking down so much within this cycle of generational inbreeding that whatever this is doesn't even register as cheating anymore since the regular boundaries start bleeding into one another. but that's bc that's what i find a really cool idea to explore, others can and should come up with their own takes

i only take issue with a certain type of moral framework that excludes all other possible interpretations bc it doesn't fall within whatever the circulated papal bull stipulates at the moment. especially when it's over really silly stuff like this. meaning to say that other people are not stupid or badly-intentioned or sinister or secret team black sleeper agents :)) for enjoying alternative possibilities. and, i have to say, it does feel really kind of rotten when you hear how other greens talk about helaemonds like they carry the plague, bc i think there are some really lovely people in this little internet niche that could contribute in a lot of positive ways to the fandom.

i, for one, can't control how people choose to judge me for not shutting up about this (lmao this really unintentionally feels like coming out, which is absolutely ridiculous, touch-grass-levels), but i'd think it rather childish if 1. i felt force to go underground and lie about it so people wouldn't blacklist me for this dumb reason and 2. i couldn't really engage in other ways bc people formed this unfair opinion that i'm some tainted radioactive waste. i write a lot of meta on a lot on topics and i enjoy talking to a wide range of people, which is why i rarely even block, so, that's just a personal disappointment i would have as a fandom navigator.

at the end of the day, it's.... you know, whatever, as far as i'm concerned, because i have a big mouth anyway and i don't really shut up IRL either, so, in that regard i had to already teflonize myself. but i feel like a lot of users are held back from participating and being more active for fear of judgment, which is just a damn shame, as the toxic voices always tend to drown out the ones who would really help turn this place into a more pleasant experience for everyone

my history with one piece is long and complicated LMAO so i wont rant about it, but i started watching anime when i was 7 and one piece caught my attention when i was 10 i think, so ive had a lot of time to experience it tbh. but i was never that into it until i read the manga!! if im recommending one piece, i usually recommend the manga because its so much easier to get through imo.

honestly now that im caught up im like.. so afraid for the end of one piece. i never want it to end. i keep hearing that this is the final saga, and that one piece is ending soon, and my brain just. cannot comprehend it. i dont know if its just denial or what but i fully believe it won't end for another 5 years.. i havent experienced enough of the one piece world!!! i need more!! tell me everything about everyone in one piece PLEASE . it cant end . and those thoughts have been plaguing my mind since i restarted it LOL

i find it funny that u like sanji cuz i have such complicated feelings around him. like he was my absolute favorite upon first introduction. i loved his kindness, i loved his interactions with gin, and i thought he was cool as hell. he was definitely a positive role model for my very damaged child brain. but i think the pervert joke and him treating women differently has pretty much ruined him for me. when i was younger a part of me felt like it was only right that he treat women better, but im pretty sure i just felt that way bc i hated the experience of being born female so much that the only way i could cope was by taking every and any advantage i could get. and then i figured out i was non binary.. and hes been turned into the most cartoonishly disgusting pervert .. and i see his potential and it just.. yea as u can tell its a little complicated for me too lmao ( i mean. the damn thing has been going on longer than i've been alive, so. it's touched many people in many ways. and it's complicated in its OWN right which. i'll get to. but holy shit 7 is younger than i expected! thats still a pretty long history (though i cant talk bc at age 4 i had a crush on goku even tho i had no idea what was happening half the time i was watching the dbz reruns on tv </3) and YEA. one thing about me is that i. hate doing things that are distasteful or offensive in any capacity and that extends to the media i consume in that i dont like consuming media that is excessively problematic. i understand nuance so like OBVIOUSLY nothing is perfect and everything has problematic elements - but for a lot of shows there's one too many things on one side of the scale and i just dont like having that guilt on my shoulders consuming it. one piece fits that category but it's also SO BIG and SO LONG and its been going on for a WHILE and is such a phenomenon that i can let SOME stuff "slide"...and also realize "bitch one piece is so popular and near its end at this point that you, a single tumblr user, liking it or not liking it is not going to make a difference" and i'm (still) trying to make peace with that. things like oda's passive racism, The Entirety of Kamabakka Kingdom (literally don't even get me started), his blatant sexism in universe and his own opinions in the SBS...i've just come to realize i need to consume my media critically but still let myself have fun. im going through a rough period in life and this happens to be what my brain hyperfixated on and i cant change that so might as well have this outlet. ive made a lot of friends and am really enjoying the story for its good parts (found family, anti government and anti authoritarianism, importance of dreams and ambition and self love, the importance of mental health and trauma and how your past doesnt define you...etc)

i do actually like his woman thing to an extent, i think its cute when its just him having heart eyes at every woman he sees and being weak to literally any woman who looks at him- cause that's still putting women on a pedestal, but its a fairly harmless character flaw for a fictional character to have. pre-timeskip sanji is a gift for all these reasons. and like, thats when everyone fell in love w his character i think. i MIGHT even forgive his whole "i wont hit a woman" thing bc its not like he doesnt think women shouldnt be hit in general to such an extent (i dont think he ever opposes to anyone else doing it on the crew, HE just doesnt like doing it PERSONALLY bc its his own moral principle he wont break just like the whole wont fight with his hands thing) even if the whole thing stems from the sexist belief women are lesser/weaker (esp after his backstory reveals some stuff)

but the pervert shtick? and the WRITING HIM AS TRANSPHOBIC/HOMOPHOBIC THING?? yea i literally hate that part of his character so much and wish it wasnt added. like i see how it relates to the character oda has decided sanji is but i still dont think it was needed. or okay. lol. i dont think any sanji fan actually likes this part of him. somedays i look at myself in the mirror and i'm like "am i fangirling over a more conventionally attractive bnha mineta rn" and i put on my clown makeup

but he's more than that. for all the reasons i listed above. and the BIGGEST thing that keeps me sane as a Sanji Liker (tm) is the fact that i 100% see half of his shitty character traits as something that are a product of Oda, the author, influencing his own work. im not gonna lie that canonly he still gave sanji those traits so yea like as a trans (? still working on that) GNC bisexual woman my favorite character atm is this weird little guy who's kinda chauvinistic and also canonly a homophobe (...at least, to an extent, bc apparently he has a really good relationship with iva? again, i could write an essay on just the queer rep as well) and thats a little embarrassing but. alas. i already fell in love with the character. and if you consider the writing is done by a dude who's got his own issues and just take the character for what he is...i do still rlly enjoy the idiot. and TRUST ME, i will headcanon him as a repressed bisexual who's probably GNC or a little trans or AT LEAST likes to do drag bc c'mon now. oda PUT ALL THAT IN CANON...AND EXPECTS US NOT TO PLAY WITH IT? you could make a compelling argument that he's 1000% straight and cis and kamabakka was a fluke that he resents but i think you could just as easily interpret it the other way. or just say fuck word of god i'm gonna enjoy this character the way i want (draws sanji in a dress for the millionth time bc i can and it makes me feel better. and once again HE WORE ONE IN CANON...AND WAS SMILING ABOUT IT, FOR A WHILE. IDK IDK CALL ME CRAZY) tldr; sanji is fucked but the worst parts are a product of oda himself and i like the character for other reasons and purposely try to consume him very critically for those reasons bc i do still really like him. like. hes my #1 fav character atm unfortunately. but he's nice in a lot of other ways 🥲

OKAY ALRIGHT LET ME JUST. COLLECT WHATEVER'S LEFT OF MY BRAIN. idk if any of this will make sense but here are some of my scattered thoughts about it!!!!

as i said before i do think camboy talay works incredibly (and surprisingly) well, but im having a hard time explaining why. i guess it depends a lot on how i personally see the characters. in episode 8, when friend credits have to find a way to get money to produce their movie, talay goes online to try sell tess' clothes as quickly as possible because he doesn't want the others to sell their parents' stuff. i think that says a lot about who talay is: when it comes to the people he cares about, he is willing to do pretty much anything. so i can definitely see him finding out that his mom is struggling with money and deciding that he wants to help out in some way while he tries to land the job of his dreams. of course i don't think becoming a camboy would ever cross his mind on his own (maybe he hears his friends talking about it one evening), and at first he'd probably object to the very idea of it, but after struggling to find a stable job for months, i do think he would decide to at least give it a try

and there are actually two things that you mentioned that i really love: 1) that you want talay to start it for himself too, to take his pleasure in his own hands, and 2) that at the beginning he wouldn't do well. because see, even if it's an AU it's really important to me that the characters remain themselves, and when it comes to talay i don't think he'd be able to act all cute (i mean, he is the cutest, but he doesn't try to be, if that makes sense) and pleasing with everyone. i can see people asking him to do something and talay just misinterpreting it completely (like in episode 6 when puen tells him he likes the sound of 'the sea', and talay takes him literally), or someone saying something degrading about sex workers and talay starting an entire rant about it, or even just talay refusing to do something he doesn't feel comfortable with (because like you said this is about money, but it's also about talay and what HE wants too)

and on the other side you have puen who feels incredibly lonely and desperately craves connection but can't manage to build a lasting relationship with anyone. and i like that you mentioned that the first time he goes on the site he has some glasses of wine in him because im not sure he would go look for that kind of content if he were sober, no matter how lonely he feels, but he still ends up there, and i like to think that even if he clicks on talay's livestream because he's attracted to talay's body at first, the reason he stays is because of talay's personality. like, talay reads puen's username and the first thing he thinks about is the 2499 antapan krong muang movie so he starts talking about it and how cool dang bireley is and while other people are leaving the stream puen is just sitting there smiling and thinking 'cute'

i think that's what actually pushes puen to write to talay and start chatting with him, because he finds talay so funny and smart too, and i love the idea that eventually it's that connection they make that also helps talay be comfortable enough to start exploring what he actually likes

there is also a nice potential for angst, because maybe at one point talay and puen meet in person without knowing who they are and things start to get complicated, because they feel like they're falling for two different people at the same time and then they find out they are actually the same person and they have to reconcile with that knowledge and with everything that happened between them. BUT ALL'S WELL THAT ENDS WELL AND THEY LIVE HAPPILY EVER AFTER OKAY BYE

His thoughts on modern depictions and pop cultures about Vampires. Any silly habits of his or whatever! You're very insightful and I just love reading everyone's headcanons about our local Vampire King!

Let's hash this out, shall we? Lay bare everything my brain can come up with about Clan Dad™

(It's a lot. This is long. Everything is under the cut)

William Solaire is not old. Like, he was turned when he was, like, 40. At first glance, he still looks young as f^&*. Barely any wrinkles. Only the slightest peppering of grey hair in his dark hair.

But the longer you look, the more you see the weight of five centuries on his shoulders. The older he looks in spirit

Physical-appearance-wise, he's French from the late 1400's (1470's/80's/90's or so, if I had to guess). People were short back then. I headcanon Vincent as 6'3". Yeah, William Solaire is a solid 5'4" at the tallest. But that doesn't make him unintimidating. He can be scary as hell when he wants to be. He's Old Blood. He didn't survive this long on accident.

He's got darker brown hair, but it's not dark enough brown to be mistaken for black. I think he tends to wear it a bit longer. He used to be full Medieval Times long, like ponytails and braids and stuff, but as times changed, he got rid of a few inches. It's not quite long enough to pull back into a proper ponytail, anymore, but he can still bind it back when he needs to.

Silver eyes now, obviously, but they used to be brown.

Also, again. French. 1400's. That, and the voice—he's a white guy. And no sun for over five hundred years? He's pale as f^&*.

As for his life pre-vampirism... I don't know enough about France in the late 1400's to say for certain. I mean, I'm guessing when he was born Europeans still didn't know the Americas existed. I doubt he was super well-educated pre-vampirism. Unless he was nobility, which... idk doesn't seem to be the case? I mean, Mr. Clan Dad™ is way too chill and down-to-Earth to be a snotty noble. I think his Distinguished-ness(?) really comes from being over five hundred years old and the king of a clan. So he seems a lot fancier than he means to be.

Post-vampirism, I think he got a really good education—especially as education became more and more readily available for more people. This man is quite savvy at most things. He and Vincent can talk cars (he was around when they were invented) until Lovely falls asleep of boredom. Lovely brought up a hobby of theirs to him once and he was deeply knowledgable about it too.

I like to think that he still makes most of his own clothes. And he does it the way his mother taught him to. Meaning, even if he uses modern fabric and a sewing machine, his clothing still is in the style of late-1400's France.

I also think he dipped to the Americas not long after Europeans found out they existed. Juuust because Europe in the Middle Ages wasn't really the most... welcoming of vampires, we'll say.

He thinks a lot of modern pop culture depictions are amusing. Just don't mention Twilight to him. Whatever you do. He will go on a 6-hour long rant, and sometimes you can't tell whether he's dragging it or praising it—because he's speaking in about six languages at once when one language doesn't have the word with the connotation he wants so he switches to another—but then that one is lacking the proper vocabulary he wants too so he'll switch to another—

Because, yes, he knows at least ten languages. Why the hell not? He's been around for a long time. He's seen some sh!+. He's done a lot. Been a lot of places as travel became easier. He'd want to learn a lot of languages.

I like to imagine the Solaire Clan is as big and influential as it is because the vampires in it are from all over the world, and a lot of them are on the older side. Vincent, Sam, Frederick, Bright Eyes, and now Lovely are the youngest members of the clan. Even Alexis is on the younger end. None of the other members are anywhere near William's age—but he's been adopting strays since he was... probably about 100. None of the current members of the clan are any of his original strays though. They all either got hunted down, drove themselves mad, or went on to form their own clans when they got old enough. The next-oldest in the Solaire Clan now is, like, not quite 200.

Also he knew Bram Stoker from a distance and found Dracula to be an amusing piece of literature

Now, as for silly habits...

He and Lovely downloaded an entirely separate texting app specifically for sharing embarrassing stories about Vincent. Vincent knows about it, but just begrudgingly accepted it

William's love language was gift-giving long before he was wealthy, and if you really mean a lot to him, he will hand-make a gift for you like he would have done back when he was human. It is not uncommon for a clan member to find him in his office whittling a piece of wood (he made Sam a wolf after Sam and Darlin' got together). But here's the thing, he did it in his youth as a hobby, and so when said clan member walks in on him, he's lying across his desk, head and shoulders dangling upside-down off of it, with his tongue between his teeth, not even noticing there are wood shavings in his hair.

I'm going to start off with how they became friends then just give off a couple headcanons on how their friendship escalates.

"Muzan... Look at me." You told a very pissy Muzan. He slowly faced you with a glare, then proceeded to scoff, roll his eyes, and look back to the side with his arms crossed.

He's just started school 3 months ago and has still refused to make friends with anybody. Instead, decided to insult everyone, claiming their a much lower rank than him.

You sighed in disappointment. "Muzan don't be rude, give it a try! You'll like it, trust me." You try your best to convince him while cupping one side of his cheek. In response, groaned and pushed your hand away.

You sigh again. "At least try talking to someone, Ok? Just a small conversation with someone. You don't even need to act like you like it."

He slowly looked back at you. His glare easing slightly. ".....I can't believe your making me do this" He groaned, giving in to the tourtures act your putting him through. You smile and gently pat his head, "Thank you, honey... Say bye to Rui."

Muzan reached his hands out to grab his younger brother.

"Rui, I am terribly sorry that I have to leave you once again. I promise when I get back I'll make it up to you. Ok?"

" Don't tell me that.." Muzan sneered, but you've already walk off the school's premises, to hear anything.

Muzan sighed angrily and looked at all of his classmates. Why must they force me to befriend these idiots. I don't have time for any of these fools.

He looked about in disgust. Some kids were playing with the mud, not really caring if they got it on their uniform, some were playing with dolls, monster trucks, rocks, others were picking there nose, and some kid pushed a girl face first in the mud.

Muzan shivered in pure disgust. Why am I forced to do this trousers work? All these imbeciles don't even have the right to look at me? And yet that [pronoun/gender/ Name] what's me to become "Friends" with one them. *scoffs* I'm disappointed.

As Muzan ranted on to himself about how dumb everyone else was compared to him, a slightly taller girl ran into one of the bushes right behind him.

Muzan heard the noise of ruffling bushes and decided to go investigate.

Why? He didn't know. His body just told him to.

Walking towards the bush, Muzan noticed it was shaking slightly faster every second. " Why are you in a bush?" Muzan asked.

A girl with long black hair that covered her eyes peaked her head up. After staring at the owner of the question, she shook her head in response.

"No? What do you mean no? You ran into the bush doing who knows what and you tell me no?"

The noirette hung her head and shook it again. "Your confusing me. Unless you what to get yelled at by a teacher, get bitten by a bug or get scarthes from the thorns, I suggest you get out of that bush" Muzan said coldly.

The black haired girl stared at the other black hair.

"Your the person who dresses as a girl every Wednesday and Thursday..."

Muzan stared back at the girl. He didn't know if it was a statement or an insult either way, he didn't like it when people randomly commented on his choice of clothing.

"And so what about it? If you have a problem with it, I couldn't give two-"

"You look very pretty in the kimono.." the girl titled her head down and played with her fingers. "I always wanted to tell you that, but I don't like to bother people..."

Muzan continued to stare at the girl. He was shocked. No one really did compliment him when he wore his woman outfit other than his caretaker and Rui, even though Rui could barely speak, he knew he liked his clothes. Not even the teachers here complemented his woman outfit. Instead he got ask, "Does your parents let you dress up like that in public?" Or they would have private chats with his Caretaker. Complements were a rare sighting to get for Muzan.

And now her.

"What's your name." Muzan demanded.

"A-ah, N-Nakime." She answered.

"Nakmie..Nakmie..N A K I M E..." Muzan repeated to himself so he wouldn't forget.

"W-What's your Name?-"

"How come I never seen you during classes?" Muzan demanded again.

"I sit in the back of the class. So I don't have to talk to anyone.." Nakime answered, barely above a whisper. Muzan hummed in response.

"So- uh whats your name-"

"What about lunch and recess? I don't see you there either."

"I- I sit behind a tree in the far corner. Can I finally get your name?-"

"One more question. Then you can ask me your difficult question."

"It isn't a difficult question, I just wanna know your name-"

"Why are you in a bush?"

Nakime stared at the no name boy standing in front of her. Not knowing what to say, she apologized.

"Huh? What- why are you-"

"Kids! Come inside! It's time for class!" A teacher yelled.

Muzan watched as Nakmie rushed to get her stuff and walk passed Muzan to go inside.

She was a strange girl.... But Muzan didn't see her as a disgusting idiot, she saw her as someone worthy of his time.

Ok Headcanon time!

- Muzan Dresses up in his kimono a lot more than usual

- Now and forever sits next to Nakmie and threatens anyone who dare disturbs their time together

- Nakime's bag is for some reason always heavy, so Muzan carries it for her so she can hold her biwa

- Muzan is the only person she trusts with her Biwa

- But Muzan rarely holds it in fear of losing that trust

- Muzan defends her when it comes to people bullying her or forcing her to talk

- Muzan has never seen Nakime cry until this one time and it scared the living shit out of him, he knew Nakime wasn't childish so if she was crying it was for a serious reason

- Nakime eventually did calm down and Muzan started to ask a whole lot of questions that Nakime refused to answer

- Muzan didn't give up but decided to put the subject aside for now

- So instead He asked Nakime

"How would you like to take this relationship further?"

"Relationship? You mean Friendship?"

"Samething. How would you like to take this Relationship.. or in your words 'Friendship' further? What do people usually do in situation?"

" W-Well they hang-out a lot, talk to each other, have sleepovers I guess-"

"What is that? A sleepover... is it exactly what the name protrades?"

"Yeah.. or it can be just small hang outs at each other's-"

"Nakime your coming over to my establishment and I will not be taking no for an answer."

- Nakime wasn't going to say no in the first place. She finally made a friend and she'll do whatever it takes to stay friends

- Even if it meant disobeying her parents wishes

- Just like what I said in the child Muzan headcanons, you were excited to see Muzan making a new friend

- You welcomed her home as if she was your new daughter

- But you couldn't adore her for long due to the fact Muzan already had plans with her

- Yes he showed Rui to Nakmie and yes Rui likes Nakmie

- Nakmie helps Muzan reach certain items he can't reach

- He hates the fact that he's short but is thankful so he doesn't have to ask someone else to help him

- Muzan later did figure out that Nakmie wasn't being taken cared of that well at home

- Some days Nakmie would come up to him and ask if she smells bad

- Or ask if she has bruises or cuts

- Or she would straight up run up to him on the verge of tears with a broken biwa in her hands

- He didn't want his favorite and only friend taken away so he did what had to be done

- He took her to his house everyday and no one could take her away from him

- Has grown attacted to Nakmie but he doesn't even know that he has

- Nakime has grown attached to Muzan and the rest of his Family and she is well aware of that

- You stopped questioning why Muzan's always bringing Nakmie with him she's like your second daughter now

the essay: childhood trauma, responsibility, and tma. part 1: jon

in a tma fic i published like six months ago, i left an authors note that promised an essay on jon and tim’s trauma to anyone who asked. several people asked, and so here i am!

the fic is called a deeply annoying child. it’s about being a kid and seeing something horrible, and it’s about jon and tim’s rocky relationship. 

this post isn’t actually about the fic. it’s a breakdown of jon’s mental state through s1-3. im going to make another post about tim, and then a final one linking it all back to the fic. i’ll chuck links to those on here when they’re posted!

but first, let’s talk about my boy, JON ‘JARCHIVIST’ SIMS.  

(fair warning- this isn’t a fully backed up meta post, it’s my interpretation of canon. any thoughts/queries/additions welcome! my askbox is always open <3) 

part o: a note on guilt

hey, you know what’s fucked up? an eight-year-old kid with survivors guilt. 

as a child, jon watched someone he knew die, due to circumstances that, while they were not his fault, were set in motion by his actions. children (and often teens!) think in black-and-white. complex logic often just doesn’t occur to them.  jon, at 8, looks at what happened, and says that’s my fault. i did that. jon didn’t like his bully, and wanted him to go away, and then he did. that instinctive reaction is something i think he never grows out of. when you already hate yourself, it’s easy to pile more fuel onto that flame.  he doesn’t think about risk, not to him, because he deserves whatever happens. he let someone die. he doesn’t ever forgive himself for that.

part i: belief (precanon+s1)

now, i have a headcanon about why jon doesn’t believe statement givers, and imma lay it all out for you right here. 

when jon was 8, and freshly traumatised, i think he tried to tell someone what happened. beneath all the layers, jon is compassionate, and tries to help people. now, picture this. a kid, one with a history of troubled behaviour and an atypical home life, goes up to someone (a police officer, his carer, a teacher) and tells them a giant spider ate someone. what’s that person, someone who is a rational adult, someone who doesn’t believe in silly things, going to say back? are they going to believe that kid? 

no. no way. they’re going to tell that kid that they’re making up stories, that they had a nightmare, that they should stop making jokes about someone who actually disappeared, jon, you need to be more sensitive about these things. 

now, that kind of dissonance- ‘this did happen, it was real’ and ‘everyone i talk to is telling me it’s not real’- is hard on adults. to a kid? devastating. 

jon, because he’s jon, would have been desperately searching for a way to explain this, and i think the thing he grabs on to is evidence. if he had some evidence of what happened, if he could prove what happened, people would believe him.*

but he doesn’t have evidence. and he resents that, and he resents that so much that by the time he’s an adult he’s settled into a mindset towards the supernatural somewhat akin to ‘i didn’t get believed, but you think you should be believed? what’s so good about you? you think you’re better than me?** fuck you! i don’t believe you!’   this is also a way of keeping himself safe. if the monsters aren’t real, they can’t hurt him.

and then, through s1, that mindset is chipped at. the statement givers start being real people, who come into jon’s office and cry when he dismisses them, and that clearly makes him uncomfortable. martin gives his statement, and martin has evidence. jon knows martin, and knows that he’s a good person, so martin having evidence isn’t likely to be an attack at jon. 

jane prentiss attacks the institute, and then suddenly jon’s shield of denial and anger is ripped away, because the monsters are real, and they can hurt him. 

*would they? i don’t know. people can be very attached to believing that the world is good, and kids are misguided, and there are a hundred thousand ways to explain away a piece of evidence, as jon comes to know well. 

** this ties into jon’s self hatred, as people saying they are better than him kicks him right in the Issues. 

part ii: paranoia (s2)

after prentiss attacks, jon is left floundering. his old I Do Not See It mindset has been smashed to pieces, and underneath all the trauma he’s been brutally suppressing is bubbling up. jon has no real experience in judging threats, because for the last 20 years he’s been burying his head in the sand and yelling he can’t see any threats. so he overcompensates, and assumes everything is a threat. his experience re:not being believed tells him that everyone around him is stupid and wrong and the only person he can rely on is himself.  

so he investigates. he’s convinced that his life is in imminent danger, that everyone around him is plotting to kill him. he doesn’t hold back, because you don’t hold back in a life-or-death scenario.  he knows something is wrong. something is very wrong. he’s sure it’s a threat to him, a threat to his life. but he can’t put a finger on what it is.

this is when his friendship with tim breaks down. i’ll talk about tim in a minute. 

jon spirals, and obsesses, and wrings answers out of the ether until it all falls together. he understands what is wrong, that it’s sasha that wants him dead. or, well, not sasha. he’s been winding up tighter and tighter all series, and he lets loose by striking out, acting for once instead of reacting. it is remarkably easy to buy an axe in central london, after all.

and then, well, that doesn’t go well. 

 part iii: desperation (s3)

after what jon did backfired so badly, he goes to georgie, because he has no other option. and he thinks, what went wrong? and the answer he comes up with is i didn’t know enough.* that’s why it all went wrong, because he didn’t know what he was dealing with. and so the solution is to find out more.

he’s starting to realise that he’s changing.** he wants to find out more about that as well, to control it. 

so he goes and finds out more. or, tries to. he doesn’t have many leads.*** jon is not good at judging threat, and doesn’t know the danger he is putting himself in. he’s stubborn, and locked onto getting more knowledge like a dog and a bone.****

and then he does get more knowledge, but it’s the knowledge that the world is ending, and he’s the only one who can fix it.***** he can’t process his trauma. he doesn’t have time. the world is ending. 

in late s3, jon is desperate. he’s overworking himself. he feels alone: daisy’s at his throat, elias is dangling information over his head, tim... 

we’ll talk about tim later. 

basira doesn’t trust him, georgie isn’t happy with him, melanie’s never liked him. he gets kidnapped for a month, and no one notices. the only person jon has firmly in his corner is martin.****** and he doesn’t have time to talk to martin, because he’s getting kidnapped, and jetting across the world chasing shadows, and desperately, desperately trying not to fuck everything up again. 

and he doesn’t! they build a plan. it’s dangerous, sure, but jon doesn’t even know what that means anymore. his whole life is dangerous. jon going into the unknowing is cautiously, waveringly hopeful. maybe this time it won’t go wrong. this time they know what to do, they know what they’re dealing with. 

and, the tragedy is, it doesn’t go wrong. they save the world. they send elias to prison. it all goes to plan. and tim is dead, and daisy is buried, and jon is lost in dreams. 

*👁️ **👁️ ***👁️ ****👁️  ***** he’s not the only one, of course, there are a whole team of people working on stopping the Unknowing, but jon is the Archivist. he’s the heir to gertrude’s legacy. 

****** this is where they fall in love, after all. which is a good thing, of course, but it adds an extra weight to every interaction they have, guessing and double-guessing how the other feels, until jon actually can’t talk to martin, not how he wants to, because he’s not sure if they’re there yet. (martin is there. jon doesn’t have time to be.)

Hello!! Can I request some headcanons about Rantaro, Mukuro, Kazu, Taka, Kokichi, Nagito and Leon with SHSL Moodkeeper/Caregiver (i dont know the word)? They is, like, always on a guard to calmly end every arguments and tences in their group, and to give a hand or shoulder for cry to anyone who is in a bad mood. Ultimate stress-relive person, i guess? Also, they has good empathy, but still is very bad in guessing ofters opinion about them, so they really didnt notice someone loving them. Thx!!

He likes how you mediate situations when they start getting out of hand.

Of course, he’s good at calming people down, too, though he’s glad to see you step in as well.

Watching you resolve conflicts without violence is an eye-opening experience for her.

So when you break up a fight between her and Junko with just your words alone, she’s completely baffled.

You feel bad for Mukuro, helping her up when her sister kicks her down, saying she doesn’t deserve to be degraded so much.

She’s even more confused because she thought the insults were Junko’s way of showing familial love.

But perhaps..the soldier was wrong about that.

Over time, she starts giving you more of her attention.

Makoto smiling at her was one thing..but for you to actually care about her?

She just wants to give every bit of her heart to you.

But you aren’t sure what she exactly thinks of you, so...for a while you don’t notice.

She’ll never get past admiration from a distance, though, as she doesn’t know how to express those feelings to you.

He’s perplexed at how the hell you manage to keep so calm all the time, especially when almost everyone was panicking on the island..

No matter how much the class argues, you always end those debates peacefully somehow--even in trials.

After spending some time with you, he eventually confides in you about his insecurities and such.

And you always listen no matter how much he pours his heart out to you.

You just pat his back and offer your sympathy whenever he gets emotional, never judging him.

He’s glad he can someone to rely on..to the point where he feels like he can be his true self around you.

He grows to like you for more than just your talent, though.

You have great looks and a cool personality!

Unfortunately you’re kinda oblivious, so he’s nervous to confess in fear you won’t return the feelings.

He’ll probably need advice from his buddies.

Taka

Like him, you always strive to reach the best compromise among your peers.

And he admires that a lot!

You usually solve conflicts sooner than he does (probably because you aren’t always yelling and can read the room better).

Plus, you’ve taken a sort of therapist role in the class, having a lot of empathy (which Taka himself sometimes lacks) and always willing to help people out.

Especially when he realizes you’ve become more than just a “friend he can annoy” in his eyes.

He’ll get frustrated when you don’t immediately realize that, too, though.

Nagito

Of all the talents he’s observed, he finds yours most admirable.

Insists you should never let yourself--or anyone--take your talent for granted (and of course, you don’t).

He sees you lending a helping hand to anyone who needs it and is awestruck

You’re truly a shining example of hope.

He’s hesitant to come to you with any of his troubles, convinced trash like him isn’t worth your time.

He’s stunned you could read him like an open book.

Before long, he finds himself lovestruck yet again--not just because of your looks but also because of your sweet and upbeat nature.

So he tries improving himself first before he’s ready to ask you out.

Though when you don’t know for sure how he feels around you...he’ll get agitated and ends up blurting out his confession.

(I was about to ask you if you can do Nagito with an S/O who’s like Leviathan from obey me but since you don’t know the game, I will just describe his personality for you.)

So basically S/O is an otaku who usually spends most of their time on the internet and doesn’t usually talk to people unless if they really have to. They usually rant about whatever anime or game they’re interested in to their closest friends and they tend to use internet slang even if they’re speaking to someone (ex: “Someone go grab the popcorn lolol”) Despite them revolving their reputation around being an otaku, they don’t think very highly of themselves and is very insecure. Since Leviathan represents Envy in the game, S/O is also easily jealous and often talks about how “unfair” or “lucky” others are. They also like to invite their closest friends to events in video games. They are also a mix of shy and energetic since they have a lack of social skills but they also gets angry when they get jealous or ecstatic when they see something rlly cool happening.

I feel like that sums it all up, I hope the request isn’t too hard.

You were known as the ultimate otaku! You spent most of your time on the internet. Had very pricey anime merch and manga. Your room look liked an anime paradise. You also played video games.

When you got accepted into hopes peak you weren’t the most excited. You were homeschooled mostly, you hated going out in public and being ‘social’. You were pretty awkward in public.

You knew you didn’t have to go to the school. It wasn’t necessary to attend. But your parents practically forced you to go. They threatened to take away your privilege to buy anime merch and manga for 4 months if you didn’t go. You couldn’t live that long without being able to buy the things you like. So you reluctantly went to hopes peak.

You arrived the first day and you felt extreme social anxiety. You sat in a chair and noticed a girl with a game in her hand. You saw she was playing (insert random game.) you actually really like that game.

“You play (game name)?”

“Yes. I do, I like the story and design of this game.”

“I must agree the story and design are pretty great. I personally like to play games with a story like Kingdom of hearts it’s one of my personal favorites, the first one was good and I like the second one. I can’t wait for the third.”

“I really like that game too. It’s such a fun story and the mystery behind it is so much fun. What’s your name? I’m chiaki nanami the ultimate gamer.”

Throughout the day you overhead everyone’s amazing Ultimates, you couldn’t help but think you didn’t belong there. These people had all these amazing skills and what are you an otaku. After a while you walked out of the class and went to a hallway and looked out a window.

“Hey.”

You looked over to see Nagito.

“Oh hey.”

“What aren’t you in class with everyone else?”

“Cause I don’t belong in that class.”

“But your an ultimate!”

“So what. My ultimate is so boring compared to the others. I just want to go home and play video games.”

“What kind of games do you play?”

“Oh I play games with a story and good graphics. But I also like games that don’t have a plot like, Minecraft. It extends my creativity. I’ll also watch a random anime while playing. Normally if I’m playing the anime I put on is death note. It’s one my favorites no cap.”

“Sorry I tend to use internet slang even in real life conversation.”

For the next hour or two, you mentioned the type of games you play, anime you watch, and some merch/figures you have. Nagito was mentioning a game you played very often, you told him that a event of the game was coming up. You invited him to join you and he agreed.

When joined in one the event, you sounded so much more happy and very enthusiastic. He got to see a new side of you, the both you had a quite a bit of fun. He even learned a bunch of new internet slang. (Even thought he probably not going to use it.)

You guys were now really good friends. You two just got along very well. You two would play video games, watch anime, read manga together.

When you two played games with each other online. Sometimes he glad he can’t see your face. Cause you get jealous and angry when somebody beats you. In public if your jealous which makes you mad. You silent rant on the inside of your head. But online, it’s like a explosion of yells. Nagito tries his best to calm you down when you get like that, he’s learned not to say ‘it’s just a game.’ Cause that just makes it worse.

You kinda developed on a crush overtime. You realized you liked him when he gifted you a manga, that you couldn’t get cause you got in trouble with your parents.

You didn’t know how to tell him. There was no way you could do it in person.

You thought how something cute and something he might like. He really enjoyed the game Minecraft. So on Valentine’s Day you texted him to join you in a game. You spent about maybe a week making the little Valentine’s Day confession.

“I know it’s not the most romantic thing in the world. I was also to scared to tell you in person…I really like you Nagito.”

“Aww s/o…this is so thoughtful of you. I really love it! It so you! I would be delighted to be your valentine.”

“Really! Wow! I’m just so…!! How about we meet up at our favorite cafe?!”

Nagito also helps with your insecurities by showering you with compliments while also degrading himself. For example while you were saying how uninteresting you were. You told he could probably do better. he responded with ‘don’t say that, it’s amazes me that someone as worthless as me. Is given the privilege of calling someone as amazing as you my significant other!’

You also give him compliments and shower him with affection. You also do anime classics like a kabedon.

When you did do a kabedon he almost passed out by how flustered he got.

This was probably Diavolo’s idea so he has no choice but to go along with it, much to his dismay

He already thought humans were fragile, and now they were going to take care of the smaller, younger ones? 

His face scares 90% of the kids on his first day as a babysitter, which kind of hinders his job because every time he tries to help them clean up or change diapers, the kids start crying 

The other 10% who are not intimidated by him claim him to be the Big Bad and play fight with him all the time, and considering his attitude, he’s a pretty perfect villain in their make-belief play so he’s won their hearts IMMEDIATELY 

Generally a pretty strict baby-sitter who is listened to without having to repeat himself; his power and authority is unyielding (and also he’s just plain scary even if he doesn’t mean to be, and lowkey he likes the power he has because the kids remind him of Mammon sometimes) 

It’s honestly a big debate whether he should just give up and ask for help or power through, but if he’s just babysitting with you, pleads with you to please help him because he’s so lost and why do they scream so loud and not that he would ever admit to it, but he is a tiny bit hurt that he can’t seem to have the kids trust him

Once he’s told that he should smile more and speak more gently, he implements it with mixed results (at first), but it’s a significant improvement from the first few days

During a moment of rest, he’s sighing when a baby crawls up to him and sits in his lap without warning, and he’s a goner 

Literally has the hardest time trying to train his face not to look so pleased or happy, but his smile is so soft (and he will not hesitate to kill any of his brothers that see him like that, but for you and the undateables, he’ll just be embarrassed) 

Loves infants and how trusting they are of him despite how scary his face may seem sometimes-- the epitome of unconditional love and he’s just… very tender

Probably ends up being the respected babysitter who’s super cool to all the kids but slightly unapproachable (unless you’re a babyyyy) but eventually climbs the ranks in terms of babysitters because he vouches for them if they do need him

Mammon

The kids have decided that he is the biggest kid on the playground and now to assert dominance, they must beat him up

Which is what they do-- or as much as they can with their tiny fists and miniscule strength and the fact that Mammon is a literal demon

You just stare at Mammon as he cries on the ground, whining at how the kids ganged up on him and you’re just like…. They’re literally <4 years old. 

Despite that part, Mammon gets along with all the kids really well!! 

He talks to them as normal and calls them ‘brats’ but they all know he’s soft for them so they kind of take advantage of that? But only a little bit because they don’t like seeing Mammon cry either

You forget who comfort the other more at this point, the kids or Mammon

Mammon is the best person to call for if the kids want to play around because he’s pretty animated himself and goes along with whatever the kids want to do 

You might have to reign them in a little yourself, because you’re not quite sure Mammon really knows what’s actually dangerous for them

“Mammon, please only carry one kid at a time please, you’re scaring me”

“Huh? You know I can carry all four of them on my head--”

Suuuper popular with the kids even though he kept complaining about them to anyone who would listen that he had to look over these tiny humans

But the moment any of the kids ask for his help or do something cute, he’s the FIRST one to go and help because ‘you need the GREAT Mammon’s help? Guess you can’t help it after all…” and he just likes the fact that he feels reliable to these kids

He might… actually save money to buy these kids Christmas gifts?? Will maybe cry if they bring little Valentine's Day candies (that their parents probably told them to give but shhh let him dream)

Leviathan

May or may not be hyperventilating as he hypes himself up to go into the daycare and meet the kids

He tried to brush it off to his brothers that they’re just kids and he doesn’t care if they like him or not because it doesn’t matter to him because he’s just an otaku-- but my god he hopes they like him 

Little does he know, the fact he lets them play on his game consoles (whether or not they actually know how to play) wins them over immediately and breaks the ice

They find him super interesting to talk to and he ends up a pretty popular babysitter because he talks to them like adults (yes, even to the babies) 

Catch him giving a bottle to a baby while talking to them in baby-voice (that he adopts not on purpose) about his favorite TSL season 

One of the biggest reasons why the kids love him is because he really listens to them even though their rants and blabbing doesn’t always make sense

When he does talk about his interests (or it slips out, as it does), the kids are genuinely interested in what he has to say and that’s when his mission to convert all of these kids to watching anime and reading manga started

“Reading manga is going to help them develop reading comprehension!!”

Probably brings his entire stash of (kid-friendly) manga-- probably the magical girl anime with Ruri-chan-- and has the kids dig in 

It does have some negative repercussions because kids aren’t exactly good at handling precious material, so things do rip and break and Levi had to excuse himself to go outside and mourn his lost

But the fire of his mission burns brighter than the sadness over what he has lost (besides, he would never bring limited edition/1st edition things outside his room so these things are replaceable) 

If Halloween rolls around, the kids will exclaim that they want to be [insert character] from TSL or another anime and Levi may shed tears of happiness right there and then

Will make it his side quest to make costumes for ALL the kids-- especially if they can’t afford their own and will encourage them to be whatever they want to be!!!

He’s literally leading an army of newly-created weebs/otakus that look up to him in the daycare and the power he has over these kids is so formidable some of his brothers are actually a little jealous HAHA

Satan

Acts casual about the whole thing and is actually casual about it

He hasn’t necessarily spent much time with kids, but he figures he’d be able to do it-- and he’d be right; considering how natural he is with people in general, I doubt kids would be much different, especially if he talks to them like adults and respects their opinions 

Is definitely the type of babysitter some of the kids end up having a little baby crush on, considering how charming and prince-like he can be with his gentle tone of voice 

Not that he’s perfect-- some kids are just brats and he does get angry at them but he only needed to snap once before the troublemakers all learned not to mess with him

Despite that, he would most likely be the ones to keep an eye on the troublemakers, because it may be a sign of a troubled home (not always, but… well, he would know best, wouldn’t he?) and he’d want to reach out to them if he can help them in any way

What he loves to do with the kids-- and you can probably guess-- is have Story Time!!

The kids are so excited to circle around him before naptime and listen to him read storybooks, doing voice overs and dramatic/animated readings; the kids are so intently listening and giggling at the funny parts

At first, he attempted to bring all his books over to the daycare, but he had to put some back when you tell him these kids are literally three and probably don’t have the reading comprehension required to read Quantum Physics-- so he provides picture books instead; anything he procured from the human world

Really encourages the kids to try their best to read and, if he has the time of day, tries to teach them basic things like the alphabet, how to spell out each words etc (you may call him…. Sensei) 

Adores their imagination too because he knows adults could hardly compare at times and he encourages them to make up their own stories and he’d help them write it down 

Uses a lot of tactic like these to encourage their education and their development-- he loves books and the impact they’ve made on him and he wants these kids to be able to experience the same things

Asmodeus

A little hesitant at first because kids can be super cute and great for pictures but… they can also be super gross and kind of mean; and he’s seen both ends of the spectrum so he’s not really sure what to expect

Then one of the kid compliments his hair clip shyly and shows their own similar hairclip and he’s sold because obviously they have the cutest kids in the world

You wanna try out painting nails? Oh hun, he’s got you-- free make-overs for EVERYONE-- except maybe the infants, he doesn’t wanna ruin the natural baby smell and softness they have going for them

He wants to encourage ALL the kids to express themselves so he sometimes brings old clothes he doesn’t wear anymore so they have a fashion show/runways

ALWAYS encourages the kid to wear what they want because gender norms who???

If ANY and I mean ANY parent comes up to him and talk about him letting them wear non-gender conforming clothes he WILL go off on them because they are LITERALLY KIDS-- let them express themselves and have fun

Kinda grossed out by snot and diapers tho so you’re gonna have to help him with that; and since the universe knows that he hates getting dirty, he’s probably the brother most likely to get peed on while changing a diaper

You have to force him back into the daycare after that incident because he refuses to come out of the bathroom after changing into clean clothes 

But he is so captivating that the kids usually don’t cause trouble when he’s around, and also similarly to Levi, he talks and listens to them blabber while he’s doing their hair so it’s always pretty soothing 

Probably ends up in charge of the creativity hour and cooing over everyone’s art project, encouraging them to sprinkle as much glitter as they want, use as many colors as they want-- as long as it makes them happy! 

Beelzebub

Considering he’s the sweetest and physically the strongest, he’s actually pretty concerned about hurting them, and asks you to help him adjust to this new role so that the kids will be okay (you know he’ll be fine, but if saying yes to helping him will make him feel better, you say it)

Beel keeps to himself as a babysitter for the first few-- oh idk-- hours before some of the kids figure out how STRONG he is and he’s the best thing since sliced bread

The kids start to literally hang from him, testing how strong he really is, and are all delighted that he can hold all of them in and from his arms; he’s a little worried he’ll drop them, but since the kids are so excited about it, decides to lift them only a little high just to please them

Happily, he eventually gets used to knowing how to deal with them, and it helps that the kids are so polite to him

He’s the ultimate Big Brother figure to them, much to his surprise since he’s used to being the younger brother, and it makes him really soft inside that these kids actually look up to him and rely on him 

During free play, he has definitely carried at least six kids on his back when they play horsey and not break a sweat and throws the babies up in the air playfully (and carefully) and let them pretend they were flying

He’s their protector, making sure that they’re playing safely, even though he went a little too ham on the protection, grabbing a kid by the scruff of his collar because he was running and beel was afraid of him falling and scraping his knees

“It’s okay Beel, they can handle it--”

“Are you sure?? But they’re so tiny and fragile--” 

Changes diapers pretty handily after the first time; has definitely tried the baby formula and ate the entire bottle by accident before feeding a baby

Makes sure the kids are nice to each other, especially siblings, and that they eat; you tell the kids that if they eat their vegetables they’ll grow as strong as Beel, and that’s the FASTEST you’ve ever seen picky kids eat them in your LIFE

Belphegor

Honestly just thought this entire thing was a hassle because kids in general take a lot of work and he just doesn’t want to put that sort of effort into something he didn’t sign up for

But since you’re there, he may as well try to be proficient enough to be well-liked enough to not cause a fuss and be able to babysit with you

He’s the type of babysitter who converses with the kids and pretends he doesn’t know something so the kid tries to teach him-- and honestly this give the kid a chance to be confident in their skills and also lets Belphie not do as much work to keep the conversation alive so win-win

As you can probably guess, is definitely in charge of enforcing nap time… by napping with the kids-- gotta learn by example right?

There are probably mats that the kids lie on but whenever Belphie lies in the middle of them, they all end up rolling and curling near his side; when he wakes up he’s always surrounded by a sea of kids and he’s so confused and he can’t move unless you wake up the kids for him 

The most efficient babysitter out of all of them because efficiency means less effort and time taken to change a diaper, clean up a spill, or wipe a kid’s nose 

Doesn’t understand why the kids keep wanting to interact with him but he’ll always indulge them in the end regardless of his nonchalant attitude

He actually finds a lot of them endearing when they talk about the things they like to do and about their daily life because it’s always interesting to learn about their perspective on things

When it’s creativity hour, the kids like asking him to doodle something on their paper (it can be a small chibi or caricature or just some animal) and it always makes them super happy; you watch him crack a smile as he sees the kids try to copy his drawing right next to it

If any of them are interested in stars, will gently show them the constellations in books and watch as they fascinate over them as he did before

I feel like. I could make some post about the weird entitlement fictional introject havers in a lot of the DID community online have about the characters they have introjects of, but I'm not in the headspace to handle all the chaos that would inevitably come from making a post like that, and I don't have the patience to make it palatable and coherent right now. It's some weird mix of entitlement, the now-cursed word "parasocial relationships," and IDK something else.

The idea that writers are making bad decisions for not going along with what you as an introject believe to be right, the ridiculous attitude people have towards the fandom of characters people have introjects from, treating introjects like they give your personal headcanons more weight than anyone else's, hijacking people trying to enjoy a media by talking about yourself, making your disorder everyone else's problem by saying people in a fandom always need to account for your (or I guess any) introjects, being weird and rude about people who do or don't like characters you have introjects of, the list could go on.

And the thing is like, a lot of this behavior isn't...harmful to others as much as it is just. Annoying. You could make the argument it's encouraging dissociation etc etc etc but I don't have grounds to stand on w that bc I barely know shit about it. All I know is that it's fucking annoying. And it's not ableist to say it's fucking annoying. I can be annoyed! I want to engage in media I enjoy without people taking things personally. Fictional characters are fictional characters and I can say things about them that would hurt their feelings or be weird/rude to say about a real person because they aren't real.

IDK it just reminds me how I used to run this little discord server for a game I really liked, and ofc people would talk about how they like this character or don't like that one, and at one point there was someone who joined who, every time anyone talked about any character they had an introject of, would act as if we were talking about them directly. And it was annoying! I'm not talking about you!

This isn't to say anything about introjects in and of themselves. I am aware people can't control what parts form, etc etc etc and I'm not here to get into a debate about too many or too recent or whatever whatever introjects, because honestly I do not care. This behavior is the same and has the same impact regardless of whether the person involved is being genuine about having an introject of x character or not. The truth is, an introject is not the same as the character (or person) they're based on (including fanon + the idea of a character,) and you need to be cognizant of context and whether people wanna talk abt ur shit right now. Some of the people go on and on about "fictives are not their source!!! Don't treat my fictives like their source!!!" And then go and treat their own fictives like the source for funsies or whatever and it's honestly exhausting and annoying at best. Not even touching the people who DO ask to be treated like source.

Again not debating legitimacy or anything like that here. Literally just saying this behavior is annoying AF regardless of where it comes from. I'm someone who enjoys participating in some fandoms and sometimes ppl who are fucking weird about introjects make it insufferable. Also not talking abt people who do that sort of thing in their own spaces, do whatever you want on your blog or your group chat or whatever. I'm talking about interacting with the wider fandom community. I participate in fandom for lighthearted fun and sometimes the way people act is like bringing your baby brother to some people playing with dolls and trying to act like they're the same.
